helpful information & resources
WHO IS ON YOUR CHANGE TEAM?
Executive Sponsor: This is the member who elects or endorses the change project. They will make time to meet with the Change Leader for project updates, and has the necessary authority to remove barriers for the Change Team.
Change Leader: The selected Change Leader should adhere to the guidelines of Powerful = Competent + Respected (NIATx Principle #3). The Change Leader will engage and facilitate staff in the change process, keep the Executive Sponsor informed, and should be passionate for the work (i.e., the project aim).
Change Team: The rest of the Change Team should consist of 3-7 stakeholders who work in the process. The team should identify a data coordinator (data collection/monitoring), brainstorm changes – run small scale tests to see if they result in an improvement (PDSA cycles), and once project aim has been achieved and a sustainability plan in place, the project ends – team disbands.
The Change Team should always share their story – emphasize the change project impact.

WHAT IS A WALK-THROUGH AND WHY DO IT?
A walk-through is an exercise where you experience a specific process in your organization, just as a customer does. The goal is to see and feel the work-flow process from the customer’s perspective. Taking this perspective of services – from the first step, through the final step – is the most useful way to understand how the customer feels. It helps identify improvements that will serve the customer better.
