As a co-occurring initiative that embraces and supports best quality behavioral health care, the MC3 Steering Committee is designated as one of the organizations that the County Board of Supervisors solicit for suggestions for individuals who could serve on the Mental Health Board (MHB).
What is the Milwaukee County MHB?
The Milwaukee County Mental Health Board was created by 2013 Wisconsin Act 203 to assume responsibility for overseeing mental health functions, programs, and services that had previously been the responsibility of the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors and to establish policies and develop budgets regarding them. Since July 2014, the Board has overseen the Behavioral Health Division (BHD) of the Milwaukee County Department of Health and Human Services, which is responsible for ensuring the provision of mental health services to county residents. - Seat 2: A psychiatrist or psychologist who provides a full continuum of behavioral health services for adults
- Seat 3: A representative of the community who is a consumer of mental health services
- Seat 6: A health care provider with experience in the delivery of substance abuse services
- Seat 8: A health care provider representing community based mental health service provider
- Seat 9: An individual who is a consumer or family member representing community−based mental health service providers
